June Update

Hey Backers, 

June has come and gone, and with it comes another update. This one will focus on our electrode stack. You can find the update on our blog. 

We’re finished our mechanical optimizations – The last step is choosing the acoustic fabric we’ll be using for the ear cups. The parts have been sent in for EV2, which we’ll receive in 2-3 weeks – at that point, we’ll share a better estimate of our shipping timeline.

The top electrodes have undergone a redesign, which allows the inner piece to be removed while the outer shell stays in the headphone. This will allow for future electrodes to be retro-compatible with the device. The ear cup electrode design has been frozen as well.

Hey Backers! 

May has come and gone, and with it comes another update. We've got some great pictures of EV2, so be sure to check it out on our blog! 

The EV2 design is finished – we’ve sent in half the parts to be manufactured and will be sending in the rest this week. By next update we will have made, assembled, received, and started testing EV2.

Unfortunately, some electronics mishaps related to our data acquisition prototype cost the software team 2 weeks to fix. We’re now back on track with the new prototype, and running our user-experience NASDAQ.

Naturally, timelines are very difficult to estimate – that said, we’re currently still on track to deliver in September. We’ll be able to give a better estimate next month once we receive EV2.

Our project update for April is out - you can check it out on our blog at thinkmindset.com/blog. Leave us your feedback in the blog comments! 

The EV2 iteration is coming along great – we’ll have a full breakdown in our next update, along with details about the tooling. On software, we’re working on our electrode evaluation test, and our latest UX-centric data acquisition. Everything is still on track for September.

We have some cool preliminary results from our clinical study, as well as some info on our larger mission at the end of the post!

In parallel, we created a Facebook group that we'll be using to get feedback from you all on some development and marketing questions we have. Feel free to join, and please contribute with questions and comments!

February Update

Hey Backers! 

Our February update is live on our blog - check it, and share your thoughts in the comments! 

The last batch of prototypes didn’t reveal any fatal flaws – this next batch will focus on more minor tweaks to audio, fit, and signal quality. We’ll be using the next batch to set the standard requirements for our production units when they come off the chain.

Since the factory is on holiday for Chinese New Year, we’ll be working mostly on getting our tests set up, so that we can move quickly from the next batch to tooling. So far we’re keeping the same timeline – this next prototype will tell us whether we need to run another iteration, or we can move straight to tooling, certification, and production. In the meantime, check out the questions at the bottom of the update, and let us know what you’d like us to focus on!

Make sure to follow our blog for all of our newest updates. 

In parallel, we’ll be reaching out with surveys soon, focused instead on you: why did you buy the product, what do you intend to use it for, and how can we better fulfil the experience you’re hoping to get. This time the questions will be qualitative – you can ramble about the different features you’d like, and how Mindset can help improve the way that you work.
